Booking your venue is one of the most important parts of wedding planning, but I don't have to tell you! Luxury venues with high demand book two to three years out. In order to help you stay organized, I asked Samantha Struck of StruckSured Events to help create a list of the most important questions to ask a venue before booking. You might be surprised by some of the things you should consider before booking!
The title says it all! I have another shoot featured on one of my favorite wedding blogs, 100 Layer Cake, and I'm definitely doing a happy dance! This shoot took place earlier this year at the historic Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River, completely designed and inspired by the amazingly talented Samantha Struck. She took my suggestions and ideas and transformed them into a dreamy masterpiece.
If I were to write a short list of my favorite things about weddings, I would instead show you this gallery. The list would include: sunny fall afternoons, vineyards, emotional vows, and a romantic and fun loving couple. Sounds amazing, right?
Michael and Rachel said their I do's under the sun, and above a vineyard, on a cool October afternoon. As Rachel walked down the isle, Michael's heart filled enormously with nerves, excitement, gratefulness, and of course, love. She traveled slowly, taking a breath with each step. Her father walked proudly beside her, prepared, yet still unprepared for this moment.
He promised trust and responsibility. She promised strength and forgiveness. They promised each other this was fate. They promised each other their hearts.
The space around us was an overflowing cup. Each of our hearts feeling full. This is what marriage feels like. Beyond words and emotions, the guests expressed their thanks through tears, grins, and giggles. When their vows were done, they planted their first tree together. Dirt from his home, and dirt from hers. Together they are stronger.
And they said yes. To every adventure. To imperfection. To their promises. And to each other. Always and Forever.
So here's to many more nights of dance, love, and celebration
