I’m often asked if I’ve ever worked for a really mean client. And honest to God, I say never! I bring this up because Kristina and Tyler are 1000% the example of what my clients ARE like. Because my clients aren’t just nice or caring, they go above and beyond in these categories. Arriving to a Wedding, already with pressure on your shoulders, with to two big hearted people greeting and thanking you before you’ve even snapped a picture is the greatest gift I can receive as a photographer. I can’t say enough amazing things about this kind and wonderful couple, and I know it’s in their nature to return the favor.
Gorge Crest Vineyards still remains to be one of my absolute favorite venues. I first had the honor of shooting here my first year of shooting weddings. I’ve been so grateful to return every year since then, and each year I lovingly get to share my enthusiasm for the space with my couples.
Like I said last week, I freaking love first looks! I love them especially because at this moment, both Jem and I get to have our own moments with our clients cheering them on. Jem talked with Tyler, asking him if he felt nervous or excited (usually the reply is both). He reminded Tyler to enjoy every little moment, and let the worries melt away. In a laugh, he said all the sleepless nights up until now are completely worth sharing this day with Kristina.
As I prepared to walk with Kristina down to Tyler, I asked her the same. How are you feeling? And with every bit of enthusiasm she had, she giddily responded excited! This was the day she’s been looking forward to since she was little. And the man she gets to call her own is better than she could have imagined. I mean, their faces after the first look say it all!
And with the sun shining above, the wedding began.
The ceremony was as brides typically hope. Short, and very sweet. Like a lot of my favorite ceremonies, their wedding was officiated by a good friend. I always love how much added personality and personalization goes into the ceremony! It definitely brought out tears in a few of us! And with a kiss, their guests cued the bubbles, making the cutest recessional walk ever!
Now I just want to take a moment to say how stinkin cute this wedding party is! I died when I saw Kristina had two piece bridal party gowns! How lovely! And the mint added a fresh take on the typical blues we see all season long.
Kristina and Tyler lead with their hearts. They are the most gracious, kind, loving couple you will meet. And sure, I might say that about all my couples, but it’s because each time they blow me away with their love for each other and the world around them. I can only imagine marriage becoming happier each day, and lifetimes of memories shared between them.
